Astrology Trends Create a Popularity Among the Zodiac Signs

Astrology has taken over TikTok. People are interested in the simple fantasy that shows the strengths and weaknesses of your zodiac sign or even the compatibility between you and another person’s sign.

According to an article from The Atlantic “Astrology is not a science; there’s no evidence that one’s zodiac sign actually correlates to personality. But the system has its own sort of logic. Astrology ascribes meaning to the placement of the sun, the moon, and the planets within 12 sections of the sky—the signs of the zodiac. You likely know your sun sign, the most famous zodiac sign, even if you’re not an astrology buff. It’s based on where the sun was on your birthday. But the placement of the moon and each of the other planets at the time and location of your birth adds additional shades to the picture of you painted by your “birth chart.”

The Zodiac signs are grouped according to the elements: water, fire, earth and air.

“Aries are warm, lovable and adorable – and they infuriate as much as they inspire affection. They crash, bang, wallop their way through life, demanding (and often getting their way) that they are first / best / biggest / rewarded. Despite their competitiveness, they have an adorable naivety and wholesomeness, they just love to be loved and valued, and they love others just as warmly. They will stick up for you, fight for you, and help you, to their last breath. A true ride or die sign,” according to Cosmopolitan.

The third element are the earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.

“Earth signs are “grounded” and the ones that bring us down to earth. They are mostly conservative and realistic, but they can also be very emotional. They are connected to our material reality and can be turned to material goods. They are practical, loyal and stable and they stick by their people through hard times,” comments Astrology Zodiac Sign.

The final element is air, which includes Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra. They are rational and social people who are very friendly, as well as intelligent. They are also good at giving advice; however, they tend to be superficial.

Recently, there has been a surge in interest of zodiac signs, especially with millennials. Whether it is for dating and compatibility purposes, or to understand more about  personalities, many people believe that there is some truth in it all. Plus, with the rise of self-deprecating meme culture, astrology lends itself to be the perfect diss.

For users of Tik Tok, horoscopes and astrology predictions are regularly seen on the trending “For You Page.”  People love seeing their zodiac sign pop up on a TikTok, and many believe we are in an Age of Aquarius.

According to an article by VOX, “Astrologers believe that we’re entering a 2,000-year Age of Aquarius, having just emerged from the Age of Pisces, which began around Jesus’s birth. If the Age of Pisces was defined by monotheism and individualism, some TikTokers say the Age of Aquarius will be about communities and humanitarianism.”

“When astrologers speak about the Age of Aquarius they are describing a phenomenon that refers to the earth’s movement backward (or in “retrograde” motion) into the sign of Aquarius. As you know, there are 11 other signs of the zodiac — the earth will retrograde in each one. It will take the earth 25,868 years to visit all 12 signs. If you divide 25,868 by 12 signs, you will get roughly 2,100 years to a particular “age”. Thus, once the Age of Aquarius is upon us (and many astrologers, myself included, feel we have reached this point) it will stay the Age of Aquarius for two thousand years,” according to an article from the Astrology Zone.

Hopefully, with the New Year there will be some peace and harmony this year according to astrology.
