This year, the Dallas Museum of Art has gotten into the spirit of Halloween. After attendance skyrocketed with the Mexican exhibit which ended on July 17, the DMA had to uphold newly set standards to satisfy these art lovers.
Newly added to the DMA’s collection is Yayoi Kusama: All the Eternal Love I have for the Pumpkins (2016). It began on October 1 and will end on February 25, 2018.
In a room of infinity mirrors, Yayoi Kusama’s acrylic yellow gourds with adorning black polka dots, her signature style, pumpkins are displayed from every angle in a vibrant fashion. This room creates the a seemingly never-ending cycle of neon pumpkin wonder. It is the only Pumpkin Room of its kind in all of the North American collection since Kusama has not created such a collection for the past 26 years.
The pumpkin room allows the spectator to fully immerse himself in the Kusama’s work to truly experience all autumn has to offer with a modern twist. These infinity mirror rooms make for the best pictures and an unforgettable experience.
